Vintage Parades... a nod on Black Friday to retails Biggest Parade

First, I'd' like to thank everyone who came to my Open Studio last Saturday night. It was a success in every way. I'm in the process of building up my stock for my second Open Studio on Sunday, December 9th from 11am to 4pm. I hope to see many of you here. Some of my Fashion Fridays are planned, some are spontaneous. While feeling uninspired on this cold, lazy day after Thanksgiving, I decided to have a little fun researching the History of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Macy's Parade in New York City is the first to come to mind, but the Gimble's Parade in my home town is billed as the oldest, having hit the streets of Philly in 1920. New York lagged 4 years behind the City of Brotherly love. (But we're quite seasoned to hosting Parades here.. since the Mummers Parade has been an unofficial part of our city for almost 2 Centuries - I smell a Fashion Friday theme for the end of December!)
